IN CANTON: Man injured in serious car accident

CANTON, OH (WOIO) -

Canton Police report that a serious multiple vehicle accident took place in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 7, at 5:57 a.m.

The collision which involved one car and one semi truck, took place in the 1300 block of 15th St SW.

Officers say the male driver of the car had to be lifelighted to Akron General to receive treatment for his injuries.  His condition is unknown at this time.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.

    A 15-year-old Willcox girl died around midnight Saturday after being struck by a train near Railroad Park. Mariah Contreras, who would have been an incoming freshman at Willcox High School this year, was part of a group of kids "playing chicken" with the trains.
